clowning around | freeing the clown

Clowning Around

Saturday 18 November 2017

Clowning bridges the mundane and the magical with a sense of wonder and innocence.
It teaches you to be authentic and to connect with others in a light-hearted way.
At its best, clowning can speak the language of the heart and touch your soul.

In this energetic Introductory workshop, you will discover your inner clown
in a way that is organic, freeing and fun. You will explore physical and emotional
expression, inspire your natural humour, and learn again the value of play in your life.

You will discover the red nose, the smallest mask in the world. The red nose brings you present, enhances your awareness, and invites you to appreciate the poetry of life.
Come, and liberate the delight and joy of your inner clown.

Freeing the Clown

This course is a joyful adventure into clowning and the spirit of the red nose. Working with movement, stillness, and playful exercises, you will uncover your natural humour and spontaneity. You will be encouraged to be authentic and mindfully present in improvising in pairs, small groups and on your own. We will use props, elements of costume and will explore differing energies including the humour and pathos of failure. In freeing your clown, you will expand your imagination, feed your heart and soul, and have a lot of fun.
